CHASE CHEN

Chase Chen was born in Shanghai China and is a survivor of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. At 9, he had his first show at the Children’s Palace in Shanghai. In 1976 he enrolled in the Shanghai Art Institute where his talent was quickly recognized. His paintings were published in Chinese magazines and newspapers and he became an instructor of the prestigious Jiao-Tung University.

In 1986, he had a one-man show at California State University, Northridge, where he was a visiting scholar. His painting have also been shown at Cal Arts, the Fine Arts Gallery in West Covina and Gallery Plus on Melrose Avenue.

His works encompass timeless landscapes and still-lifes, with their moody interplay of sunshine and shadow, evoking a sense of poignant longing for permanence in a world of relentless change.
